Heart-Filled Field Trip

Why have a boring Valentine Party?? We've got all you need for the kids to paint their own Heart Plaques! We'll pack it all up for you and you take it to your school/church/home, have the kids paint their hearts out and then bring it all back to us and we'll fire them for you!

They will be ready a week from the day you bring

I have discovered that people that like to come create something fabulous at color me happy are two kinds of people---some think of themselves as the creative-sort and see inspiration everywhere. Others claim not to be the creative type but would love to be!

That is where we come in! I find so many fun DIY, crafty, lovely ideas and I want to share.

I have discovered a great blog recently and I wanted to share one of the super-cute projects. She made a cool pendant light out of a flower pot from Lowes...genius.

So many times we here, "Wow! Thats cute...but I could never do that." No matter how many times we say, "Yes, you can! We'll show you how..." people don't always believe us.

So, here you go! We're introducing a new series of workshops called "Show Me How: Step By Step." During Ladies Night we'll also hold a special class for anyone who wants to join us. We'll show you how to do our project, "step by step." Its that easy!

You can even do the project on any piece you choose! Our 1st class will be held during Ladies Night on February 18th 6:00-8:00. We'll show you how to create this super-cute "Cheers" platter. The platter is $39 and includes everything or you can choose another piece of $25 or more.

We are asking that you let us know that you're coming and put down a $10 deposit so we can plan accordingly. Space is limited...

Don't worry. If you don't want to do the project for the workshop you don't have to! Just bring your friends and do whatever project you like just like any other Ladies Night. :) We'll still have all the pizza you want for $5 and you can BYOB! Mark your calendar now!

We had so much fun at our National Pottery Convention! (Yes, they do have enough crazy pottery people from all over the world that come to do it every year.) The highlight is always the auction that raised money for the Vera Bradley Breast Cancer Foundation...our organization raised over $35,000 in one night! It was great...

Of course, we made our contribution and got this super cool plate painted and signed by Bette Midler herself!

My camera was clicking like crazy all weekend...

My Grandpa, Bob Spinner, will be greatly missed by many.

Including these guys...
He worked at Disney for many years putting Mickey to bed...at least that is what he told his very cute 6 year old granddaughter when I asked him. I am very thankful that his last trip to see the mouse was our Sam's first--
what a great day.
Grandpa loved to cook and swim in his pool after a long day of gardening. He loved watching golf on TV and playing it himself. He loved to fix things or lend a hand with any project that needed doing and he always came up with a better solution than you had thought of. He loved telling stories of his fabulous life. He loved running his own business back in the day and he loved that mom and I run this one together. He loved coming here to hang out and paint. He loved us and he loved my kids. He truly was a GREAT GRANDPA.
Thank you for your understanding on our closing the store for a few days. We also greatly appreciate your kind thoughts and prayers.

Relay For Life 2009

We had so much fun last weekend! We set up our BRIGHT PINK TENT (we were right, you could see it from everywhere!) and all our wares...

...and then we took a well-deserved rest.

We painted plates for other teams, sold pink things, t-shirts, and necklaces---all this means we raised even more $$ for The American Cancer Society!

Our inspiration! Lisia Sullins and Diane Van Arsdale were our team members that are SURVIVORS! Ladies, you did it! You fought like girls and we are thankful and honored to have you in our lives.

So, all in all, it was a long day but so great! Inspiring and moving and FUNNY...don't remember the last time I laughed so much. Honestly, it was a time for us to see how much our community cares and how we can all come together for a common goal.

Personally, it made me even more thankful for my work and how I spend my days. We had 10 amazing ladies on our team. To be on our team it basically meant that you helped us set up in 80 plus degree sunny weather, peddled our wares, brought yummy food and stayed with us through the wee hours of the morning...just because we asked them to. We've said many times that we are amazed that our customers have become our friends but it was even cooler to come together as sisters to raise awareness for a disease that effects us all.

Words cannot express our thanks for everyone's support in our fundraising efforts over the last few months. I'd also like to thank you for your continued support of our store. Without all our great customers/friends we would not be successful and our dream work would not be possible so thank you.

You are appreciated.

We are working with Lakeside UMC Pre-school on a very cool fundraiser

so I thought I would share...

They pre-ordered plates that are custom painted and sold to the school at a discount then they RESOLD them to their parents to make a profit. We went yesterday and stamped 66 handprints! It was the most well organized chaos we've ever been a part of---thanks Jennifer!

I just spent a few hours painting all the kids names.

We'll fire them and deliver them back to the school next week.

The profit they made will pay for their next school event they were planning! Pretty cool huh?

We can do this for your school, church, non-profit, charity--whatever!

Come in and check out these cool plates sometime this week...I'm sure they will be laying on all the flat surfaces we have for a bit.

Friday was our LIVE remote with 102.5 and we had lots of fun! Sam's favorite part was the loud music outside...he kept going out and dancing.

We displayed our fantastic Wedding-ness at the Wedding Show on Jekyll last weekend...we always think we aren't going to have enough pieces to display but then we are always happy with the way things turn out...Thanks to Straton Hall for your flowers and other general wonderful-ness for the 2nd year in a row! If you need some catering or ANYTHING, Stacy and Jay are FANTASTIC at all they do!

A big THANKS to Sheri, too! We could not have done it without you! Yes, I did put your picture up here and yes, I know you won't like that...ha ha.

This year, we featured our custom painted platters and bowls,

our new "Ring Bowls" which are a unique alternative to the traditional ring-bearers pillow. We made a ton and still have some available ($10) or we can personalize one for the

couple with their monogram, date, or names and color. ($15)

We had lots of fun ideas for Bridal Showers.

And, last but not least, people were excited that now we offer personalized bottle slumping! We flatten your bottle (or buy one of ours) and we add beads and wire and your monogram or names. Plain Bottle is $10 Personalized is $15

She is a SUPER talented illustrater, painter, logo designer and so much more...she painted our cool murals for us in our party section, she designed and painted 2 beautiful platters that we auctioned off for charity and she just designed our new business cards.

I very rarely advertise for others using our blog and email addresses of our customers because we respect the fact that they gave it to us...but EVERYONE asks us about Ed. Our tree is finished and up at the Festival of Trees! We had lots of fun painting everything in our theme. I took some pictures the day we decorated because everyone was wanting to see...

We've been having lots of people get a jump on the Holiday Season (thanks!)...so I thought I would share some of the ideas we have.

This tray was actually started LAST Christmas but since Sam had just been born on Thanksgiving--it never got finished. Cute little feet and hands of our whole family!

This year's version, we turned hands and feet into ornaments.

The weather has gotten suprisingly cold very quickly around here. Its rare that we get to feel the seasons change but this Halloween looks to be shaping up as a cool one. Its perfect for getting us thinking about all the fun things that are coming up...

What a great way to remember how big (Daddy and Mommy) and small (kids) everyone was this holiday. And its a fantastic tray for that yummy turkey! Speaking of turkey...

This is a fused glass plate and the picture doesn't do it justice. This was a 1st time glass-fuser and she did a wonderful job making this little guy.

We probably won't see any of these in real life this year but we can always dream, right?

These Pizza Plates make perfects trees and hats--great dessert plates, too. Isn't any plate with dessert on it great, though?

We painted and then we fainted! What a fun night...

We had SO many prizes from all our friends and neighbors...Over 30 prizes valued at over $400...crazy exciting giving them all away! I want to be a gameshow host.

Wednesday will now be FREE SLUMP DAY!

What is slumping you ask? Tsk, tsk...have you not tried Glass Fusing yet? First we fuse the glass together into one piece and then you can choose to have it "slumped" into a mold to make it into a plate or bowl or vase.

Normally, slumping is an extra $6 because its an extra firing...but now...

Happy 3rd Birthday to us! We are celebrating tonight at Ladies Night...there will be cake! If you are in the area, BYOB, and join us...there will be LIVE MUSIC in the park, too--not for our birthday specifically but we can pretend its all about us...

So much has changed in 3 years...all for the better of course...customers have become dear friends, my children have gained countless aunts and uncles growing up everyday in this crazy place (not to even mention that Reilly-Kate was only 3 weeks old when we started this thing) and I get to work with my mom everyday---and, overall, I'd say that we enjoy each other.

We're very blessed and thankful. Thanks for making our dreams come true...
